2011 Conference Sponsorships

Ignition and Immobilizer Seminar

Our Ignition and Immobilizer Seminar held in June was a huge success. The featured speaker was Devin Jordan, of Herndon and Associates. The attendees included officers from ten different area police departments or auto theft task forces, and seven different insurance companies. They also included representatives from General Motors, Chrysler, and the National Insurance Crime Bureau.

HEAT Anniversary Breakfast Set

Terri Miller, HEAT Director has announced that the plans are being finalized for their 26th Annual HEAT Anniversary Breakfast. It is scheduled for Tuesday October 18, 2011 at Ford Field in Detroit. For over two decades this event has honored and recognized those individuals that have excelled and persevered in the fight against auto theft and fraud. The guest speaker will be Michigan State Police Col. Kristie Kibby Etue.

NICB Names Top Ten

On August 2nd, the National Insurance Crime Bureau released the top ten, most popular vehicles stolen in the United States in 2010. NICB gathered and examined data submitted by law enforcement and notes, “Nationally—and for the first time since 2002—thieves preferred domestic makes over foreign brands”.
